The Department of Periodontology, Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin is one of the specialist departments of the Institute of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine. This forms CharitéCenter 3 for Dentistry, Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Surgery and is located at an external site of the Benjamin Franklin Campus in Berlin Schmargendorf, between Heidelberger- and Rüdesheimer Platz.

It occupies leading international positions in the focal points of its research areas and will maintain and further expand these.

Charité is aware of the trust that patients, relatives, students and business partners place in it every day. It is obliged to handle this trust responsibly. This requires competence, transparency and reliability. Charité is committed to an ethically sound approach to medical research results vis-à-vis society.

Entrepreneurship

Charité promotes inventions and supports spin-offs in order to make scientific findings useful for society. Through national and international entrepreneurial activities, the importance in the health care industry, which has grown over 300 years, is to be further strengthened.
